The history of KOKORO Cup cycle
The first gala of Kokoro Cup was organized on 15th December 2007. The championships amassed more than a 1 000 of people in “Hala Gier” of Warsaw Academy of Physical Education which was the witness of fights on really good level and also full of emotions. Thanks to organizers (Mariusz Mazur and Andrei Molchanov) 14 great fighters from different sort of martial arts were invited. There were conducted four fights on K-1 rules and one of each kind: Karate Kyoukushin, Muay Thai and Shootboxing rules.
During the event we could watch many shows. On Bielany arrived Jan Soukup from Czech republic vice world champion from 2007 in Karate Kyokushin, great fighter and an extremely nice person. His perfect show of technical arrangement and tameshiwari have met with a great applause. There were also some funny elements when Krzysztof Romaniuk entered the ring in an huge sombrero whereas Vadim Chromych was wearing a peaked cap and a stripped marine T-shirt. In the end Chromych’s suspensor cracked during the fight in front of thousands of people so he rush to the coatroom to change this unfortunate protector. On a very big broadcast screen there were presented fights fragments of the legend Kickboxer Marek Piotrowski by the hole time.
At the beginning of the summer threshold – 6th June 2008 Kokoro Cup championships reppearrea. This time in some more modest version, fighters were young competitors who represent Karate Kyokushin. In nine from fifteen fights (formula open) play-off decided winning. The winner of the sport competition was Marek Odzeniak a fighter from Bielanski Klub Karate Kyokushin. The speaker was, as usual shows organized by BKKK, journalist Wojciech Zielinski. He did it with very big sense of humour and with charisma. Unfortunately, terrible fate decided that it was the last his adventure with BKKK. He died on 27th July. He was 64 years old.
